Signs of Aging

A facelift is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the central and lower face and the neck. It smooths the creases between the cheeks and the upper lip and reduces the loose skin that develops between the cheek, chin and jaw line (called jowls). It can also define the jaw line and correct droopy or wrinkled neck skin.

The Procedure

A facelift is the most comprehensive approach to treating these sagging skin and wrinkled areas. The procedure involves removing excess skin and tightening facial tissue to provide long-lasting results. Your surgeon may also reposition fat to provide a more contoured appearance.

Because facelifts can be performed alone or in conjunction with other facial enhancements, downtime depends on the extent of procedure. Many patients return to work or normal activities in two weeks. If you have a special occasion you are planning for, allow plenty of recovery time after surgery.

Mini Facelift

The mini-facelift is a popular option for patients who want a youthful look, but have little time to spare from work and other activities. The mini-lift rejuvenates the upper neck and jawline and corrects fullness below the chin.

A mini-facelift takes two to three hours for the surgery and can be performed under local anesthesia, light sedation or general anesthesia.
